Lethbridge Airport Forges Ahead Without Westjet
The City of Lethbridge is working to keep its airport viable, even as WestJet prepares to end passenger service on June 24th.
Airport officials say the focus is shifting to three key areas: attracting new airlines, expanding general aviation, and developing airport lands for commercial and industrial use.
“In February, WestJet cited ‘insufficient demand’ as the reason for cancelling service to Lethbridge. The decision has disappointed travellers, particularly as the June 24 end date rapidly approaches.
