Harvest Algoma's Pumpkin Rescue Returns
Harvest Algoma is giving Halloween pumpkins a second life with its annual Pumpkin Rescue Project.
Running November 1–7, the initiative encourages residents across Sault Ste. Marie to donate their leftover pumpkins rather than throw them away. Both carved and uncarved pumpkins are accepted, with donations either being repurposed for food programs or sent for composting.
Last year, Harvest Algoma collected more than 3,500 pounds of pumpkins. This year, the organization hopes to beat that total while keeping even more waste out of the landfill.
