Helping Hands Needs Volunteers to Keep its Doors Open
Helping Hands is still open at Wellington St. W., but the local charity says it needs more people to help keep its doors open and its community services running.
The organization continues to provide affordable clothing, kitchenware and other essentials to Sault Ste. Marie residents, while also helping people experiencing homelessness. Helping Hands is currently looking for more volunteers and people willing to take on leadership roles.
The charity is especially looking for new board members, including someone with financial experience. Volunteers are also needed to help with the ongoing operation of the thrift store.
The call for help comes as Helping Hands continues to see people relying on its services and affordable goods. The organization recently held a community barbecue, bringing volunteers and community members together while highlighting the work happening at the charity.
