Residents Share Ideas to Shape the Future of Bellevue Park
Bellevue Park is one of Sault Ste. Marie’s most-used public spaces — and this summer, the city asked residents how they want it to evolve. Staff launched a community survey and held pop-up sessions throughout the park to learn how people use the space, what amenities matter most, and what improvements they’d like to see.
Residents highlighted year-round trail use, playgrounds, splash pads, quiet reading spots, and waterfront views as key features worth protecting and improving. Staff say the feedback offers perspectives they may not see day-to-day, helping guide accessibility upgrades, maintenance, and future planning.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will review the results this fall, with themes and recommendations expected by January. The city says community input will directly shape the next phase of Bellevue Park’s future.
