Soo Turns to Czechia for Latest Import Draft Additions
The Soo Greyhounds have added two exciting international prospects through the 2026 CHL Import Draft, selecting goaltender David Vermirovsky 35th overall and forward Melichar Kovar 95th overall.
Vermirovsky, a 6'5" netminder from HC Dynamo Pardubice, was ranked as the #3 European goaltender in NHL Central Scouting's mid-term rankings and represented Czechia at the U18 level.
With their second selection, the Hounds added Kovar, a 6'4" winger who led Dynamo Pardubice U17 with 61 points in 37 games and represented Team Czechia at the 2025 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
