Thunder Bay Expands Muralscape Program
Thunder Bay’s Muralscape program is entering its second year, and the city is already seeing growing interest from local artists, building owners, and visitors. Funded through the Tourism Development Fund, the initiative supports new public murals across the community, offering grants of up to $5,000 per project.
In this story, Tourism Manager Paul Pepe explains how the program is helping beautify Thunder Bay, support local artists, and boost visitor engagement. Last year’s murals drew more than 2,700 sessions on the Driftscape app, encouraging people to explore neighbourhoods, grab a coffee, and spend more time in the city.
