Thunder Bay Hits 243 New Builds, Earns Final-Year Building Faster Funding
Thunder Bay has secured $709,000 from the province after surpassing its 2025 housing target with 243 new builds. The final year of the Building Faster Fund recognizes the city’s continued momentum, streamlined permitting, and major infrastructure expansions that are opening more land for development.
Minister Graydon Smith, Mayor Ken Boshcoff, and Development Services project manager Summer Stevenson share how provincial support, municipal reforms, and industry collaboration are helping Thunder Bay push toward its long-term goal of 2,100 new homes by 2031.
