Top Female Athletes Honoured at 52nd Annual Tenaris Awards
Female student-athletes from across Sault Ste. Marie were recognized this week at the 52nd Annual Tenaris Female Athletic Awards. The long-running event celebrates excellence in high school sports, bringing together athletes, coaches, and families to honour the hard work of these athletes on and off the field. This year’s top honour — the Percy Bedford Graduating Athlete of the Year Award — went to Superior Heights student Kate De Beer. De Beer stood out as one of the top multi-sport athletes in the region, excelling in cross-country, track and field, and Nordic skiing. Over her high school career, she earned multiple city and NOSSA championships and consistently competed at a high level across Northern Ontario. The Tenaris Female Athletic Awards continue to highlight the strength of local athletics — and the growing legacy of young women making their mark in sport across the region.
