Victim Services Of Algoma Hosts Blue Ribbon Ceremony For Victims and Survivors Week
Community members, local agencies, and advocates gathered at Clergue Park in Sault Ste. Marie Monday to recognize Victims and Survivors of Crime Week with a blue ribbon tying ceremony organized by Victim Services of Algoma.
Participants wrote messages of hope, remembrance, and resilience before tying blue ribbons throughout the park as a symbol of support for victims, survivors, and families impacted by crime.
The event also brought together community organizations and local leaders to highlight the importance of healing, advocacy, and awareness.
Victims and Survivors of Crime Week is recognized across Canada each year to honour survivors, remember those impacted by crime, and promote services available to individuals and families in need of support.
Victim Services of Algoma provides crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and referrals for people impacted by crime and tragedy throughout the Algoma region.
Organizers say events like this help remind survivors that support and community resources are available.
