The Kamloops Self Advocate Newsletter Continues to Grow

Highlighting the importance of online safety for people with disabilities

The Kamloops Self Advocate Newsletter continues to grow, expanding its reach and resources while raising awareness about issues that matter to the disability community. Founded by self-advocate Krystian Shaw, the newsletter has evolved into a website that educates the public about disability, inclusion, and online safety—an issue that carries added significance for people with disabilities.
Ability Online has played a key role in this journey. Established more than 35 years ago, Ability Online provides a safe, moderated online space where young people with disabilities can connect, build friendships, and develop skills. With strong safety policies and free services, the platform has helped thousands of members reduce isolation and grow their confidence, including Krystian, who has been a member since the age of 15.
