This exhibition brings together 24 artists and more than 40 pieces in a powerful, community-driven project reflecting on the loss of Kamloops’ iconic Red Bridge.
The strong community involvement behind this exhibition proves just how important the Red Bridge was to so many people. Beyond its historical value, the bridge holds countless personal memories and stories that continue to resonate today.
More than a symbol, the Red Bridge was also a physical and everyday connection, linking downtown Kamloops with the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Reserve. Through paintings, photographs, mixed media, and other creative works, the exhibition honours the bridge’s role as both a cultural landmark and a vital lifeline.
The goal of this exhibition is to ensure the Red Bridge is not forgotten and to help maintain public attention so its reconstruction happens in a timely manner.
