In Focus: Seeking Shelter examines the lives of six Simcoe County individuals who are living on the poverty line. They are considered the hidden homeless, one step away from utilizing an emergency shelter.

A local man, shares a candid interview about how he once lived on the streets. He describes the pain, loneliness and despair he felt and how individuals left with little choice but to live their lives this way feel the same pain, loneliness and despair every single day.

Then there are the working poor, and the stress of living day to day as seen through the eyes of a local social worker who knows firsthand the pressure of this lifestyle.

Rogers tv Producer Steve McEown says “hopefully this documentary will awaken members of communities across Simcoe County to the fact that homelessness does indeed exist in our backyards. Perhaps, in some small way, In Focus: Seeking Shelter will help us, as individuals, to recognize, understand and react to this issue.”
