In Focus: Seasons Of Hope
Highlights the wonderful service the Seasons Centre For grieving children offers. It provides a safe, comfortable and home-like atmosphere for youth and their families who are grieving the death or impending death of an immediate family member. This program follows the story of seven Simcoe County families dealing with the death of a loved one. The support and assistance of the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children helps the families come to terms with their loss. Support for caregivers of grieving children is also an essential role of the Season Centre’s mandate. Tammy Bullock describes how the Centre has supported her through a very traumatic period in her life when her son Brayton was murdered in 2006. The Centre played a key role in her dealing with the reality of her loss and provided assistance as she began her journey of healing. Community Producer and Managing Director for The Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, Joan Kennedy says “If there is one word to describe the Centre that word would be hope. Accessing Rogers tv to work with us in producing this program helps create awareness of the type of support available through the Centre. It’s important for people to know they have a place where they can adjust emotionally, regenerate a sense of self and reconstruct their world.”
