Ontario Invests $30 Million to Strengthen Forestry Sector
On September 26, 2025, Ministers Mike Harris and Kevin Holland announced a $30 million investment to support Ontario’s forestry sector amid rising U.S. trade pressures. The funding includes $20 million for the Provincial Forest Access Roads Funding Program, enhancing transportation infrastructure vital to harvesting, tourism, and northern communities, and $10 million for the Ontario Sawmill Chip Support Program, helping sawmills find new markets for woodchips in energy and sustainable materials.
