Project Tiny Hope Construction Nearing Completion
The former brownfield now has grass growing and it will make life a little greener for residents who will be moving into the remaining 30 units at Project Tiny Hope. After 16 residents moved in to the first 10 homes in October, 50 more residents will take occupancy of the 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms homes over the next four months says YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin Executive Director Lindsay Rice.
The units are supportive housing for vulnerable people and are referred by existing community partners.
While the homes are nearly ready for move-in, construction continues on the YWCA program house that will be central to the property with a learning kitchen, community room, and gathering space for residents. The support received by the first set of residents has already been impactful to their lives.
