Summerland Wildfire Sparks Mass Evacuations
A fast-moving wildfire west of Summerland sparked Friday afternoon and quickly grew to more than 5,000 hectares, forcing widespread evacuations across the region. More than 500 residences are under evacuation order, over 2,000 are on evacuation alert, and 50 people have been airlifted to safety as crews continue battling the out-of-control blaze.
