Medicine Hat Marks International Overdose Awareness Day
The Medicine Hat Drug Coalition marked International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, bringing together community members, advocates and families affected by overdose.
The event focused on remembering those lost, supporting people living with substance use challenges, and promoting harm reduction and overdose prevention.
Kym Porter shared her personal story after losing her son to addiction ten years ago, while coalition members highlighted the ongoing impact of drug addiction on local families and the need for continued support and education.
