Medicine Hat Police Service Test Drone for Safety and Faster Emergency Response
Medicine Hat Police Service has completed a three-day drone pilot project to evaluate how remotely piloted drone could improve emergency response and provide officers with real-time intelligence. During operational testing, police conducted 19 drone deployments, with drones providing valuable information to responding officers in 12 instances. While some residents support the potential safety benefits, others have raised concerns about privacy and surveillance. Police say community feedback and pilot results will help determine the future use of drone technology in Medicine Hat.
