Paul CUNHA at Station Arts
In this edition of OE TV we feature the story and art of local artist Paulo Cunha. Born in Portugal and immigrating to Canada with his parents, at the age of 5, and growing up on a Tobacco farm near Langton, his roots have grown deep in Southwestern Ontario. He has always been artistic, seeing the beauty and perspective in nature all around him. Growing up, he was a classmate of Brenda Pearce's having attended Sacred Heart, Langton and Valley Heights SS. Going away to college and living and Toronto and the crush of the city, brought him back home to the area. It was going through cancer therapy that made him return to his art with renewed passion, interest and skill. The fine detail caused him to turn inwards as a meditative practice and gave him the strength and courage to overcome illness. Now he combines his art with other artists in the Exquisite Corpse process, and also as a solo artist. He exhibits internationally in California, Portugal, and is preparing pieces to become part of the permanent collection in the Louvre, France. Enjoy this episode experiencing the art and the inner perspective of this artist. More of his art by visiting https://www.deviantart.com/paulocunha
