On Aug. 19, 1942, in what has been called Canada's darkest day of World War II, 907 Canadians were killed and 1,946 taken prisoner in the Dieppe Raid. What happened on that day 80 years ago is personal for Jayne Poolton-Turvey, whose fatherJack was taken prisoner and spent nealry three years in Stallag VIIIB in Germany including 410 days in chains.
