Television & broadcasting was not an immediate love for Melissa. She wishes she could say she was the little girl who dreamed of being in studios & on camera but it wasn’t that way at all for her. She had big dreams of course but not sure what they were, when to fulfill them or even how to begin to bring them to life. Melissa was your basic twenty something making her way from weekend to weekend. It was fun & she has no regrets but as is usually the way, adulthood got her & she grew up. Happily employed in a good job with a magnificent boss something was missing. Melissa knew it was time to make the leap. At 30, she enrolled for the Television Broadcasting Production at Algonquin College in Ottawa. This would prove to be two of the hardest years of her life. College is tough & she felt a hundred years old around all those new age tech savvy kids. All in all though, she ended up meshing with them. Fast forward & so began her time amongst the ROGERStv Family, first in Ottawa & then back home here to Barrie. After a couple of years slinging cameras & tripods she was on her way. She knew that hosting & on camera personality was going to be her goal. She loved being able to talk to so many unique & interesting people from all walks of life. Peeling back the layers if they were the quiet type & trying to get the less quiet types to quiet down so we could go to break. It was all very exciting & fast paced. It was definitely for me. Now, today, a proud wife & mother, community volunteer & host on ROGERStv, Melissa enjoys life & looks forward to sharing her experiences & those of the community on ROGERStv.
