Strathroy Hospice Progress Takes Another Step
Progress towards a hospice in Strathroy-Caradoc has taken another step.
Council voted 7-2 in a recorded vote to approve an Official Plan Amendment and rezoning application to sever 3.5 acres of agricultural land to a site-specific industrial zone that would allow for the building of a hospice. Staff had recommended rejecting the amendment as it is not consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement 2024, or the county or Strathroy-Caradoc official plans. Mayor Colin Grantham was among the 7 that supported the approval.
The land on Walkers Dr was donated, and Strathroy Hospice chair Tyler Damen explains why the location is important.
The official plan amendment now goes to Middlesex County Council, expected to be at a July or August meeting.
