Saskatoon releases preliminary 2026/2027 city budget
The City of Saskatoon has released their preliminary budget for 2026 and 2027, which if unchanged, would see Saskatoon residents facing a property tax rate increase of 8.23% in 2026 and 5.95% in 2027. According to the city’s chief financial officer, the pressures of inflation and population growth are driving the increase required to maintain core services and keep pace with infrastructure demands. City council will begin budget deliberations on November 25th.
