Pinning of first poppy kicks off start of annual campaign in Saskatoon
The pinning of the first poppy kicked off the start of the Royal Canadian Legion's annual poppy campaign in Saskatoon. Mayor Cynthia Block received that first poppy from Ruth Bond-Martinson, a 100-year-old WWII veteran and long-time community leader.
Money raised by the Saskatoon Poppy Fund goes to assist local veterans and their families.
