We don’t give it a lot of thought; that is how the food we eat gets from the farmer’s field to the dining room table. In Focus: Food, Farm & Family looks at the importance of supporting local farmers and the health and economic benefits our communities can enjoy by doing so. This documentary also looks at lack of affordable nutritious food that many people encounter on a daily basis, not to mention those families struggling to just get enough to eat. The many faces of hunger in our communities may surprise you. In Focus profiles some of those families and examines the challenge they have to make healthy choices on a limited budget. Rogers tv Producer Steve McEown says, “We need to educate ourselves about where our food comes from and we need to be made aware of the lack of accessibility many experience to nutritious food. More importantly, what we all can do to help correct this situation.” Food is a basic necessity to sustain life.
