BC Endangered Rivers List - Elk River
The Outdoor Recreation Council of B.C. (ORCBC) recently released their annual endangered rivers list, and among the river systems of concern was the East Kootenay's Elk River. This year's theme is 'Glimmers of Hope' and while the ORCBC cited positive trends in river conservation in the area, there was also a concern regarding a possible coal mine expansion.
