Sounds of India highlights major events and uplifting stories about the National Capital Region’s East Indian community. The show also features fascinating interviews with notable writers, artists, activists, scholars and other personalities visiting the city.
Sonya Nagpal is a dynamic television host, community producer, & actress. She has been the host of the Sounds of India for over 5 years and more recently became co-producer as well. Growing up in Ottawa, she has been heavily involved in the Indian local community and brings that connection to the Sounds of India. Sonya is a trained dancer and actress with a big passion for the arts. Some of her accomplishments include winning the 2013 Best Acting Ensemble in the Digi60 Film Festival (Open Category), as well as over 15 years of dance training. Sonya is also trained in systems and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Management Information Systems.
