Peel Region Launches Truck Prohibition Pilot in Caledon
Peel Region is launching a one-year truck prohibition pilot in Alton and Caledon East beginning July 1. Regional staff will monitor truck volumes, route changes and compliance using before-and-after traffic data, while enforcement will be carried out by the OPP. The findings will be presented to Regional Council in 2027 and could help shape future decisions on truck restrictions once responsibility for regional roads transfers to the Town of Caledon.
