CVRD Curbside Program Cuts Garbage by Nearly 27 Percent
CVRD officials say the nearly 27 per cent reduction in garbage volumes represents an encouraging start, but they stress continued participation will be key to achieving long-term waste reduction goals. The regional district says every kilogram of food waste composted and every recyclable diverted helps reduce the amount of material that must be shipped hundreds of kilometres out of the Cowichan Valley for disposal.
