RECOGNIZING OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR GIFT OF TIME

ROGERS TV CELEBRATES NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK, APRIL 6 – 12

Tuesday, April 1, 2014 [Richmond Hill] During National Volunteer Week, Rogers TV (cable 63/10) is set to celebrate and recognize the contributions of its 150+ volunteers.

“From camera operators to floor directors and audio engineers, each person who volunteers here at Rogers TV makes a unique contribution to the success of the channel and ultimately, to our community,” says Lisa McClean Stellick, Station Manager, Rogers TV. “York Region enjoys vibrant local programming thanks to our volunteers. We simply couldn’t do what we do without them,” adds McClean Stellick.

Rogers TV volunteers help produce local programming to showcase the local people, places, stories and events that make up the communities where we live and work. They are diverse in age, ability and experience, but each volunteer shares in their commitment to making a difference. They fill an endless number of roles and responsibilities. Bringing to us their unique skills and experiences, they are rewarded with a sense of achievement, new skills, renewed confidence and new connections that come from volunteering.

During this year’s National Volunteer Week, Rogers TV York Region will honour its local volunteers by holding a Volunteer Appreciation night titled “Summer Dreamin’” catered by Lone Star Texas Grill and dessert cupcakes provided by Call Me Cupcake. Volunteers will compete in teams for games like charades and cable coiling to win prizes. Five volunteers will be recognized and profiled on our daytime show for their outstanding contributions.
